Outpatient Treatment for Gamblers

This program is flexible to meet the needs of the gambler. There is usually one individual session with a counselor each week. There is a treatment group available for those who want a little more.

Initial Assessment: The first session is FREE and involves the counselor getting to know you. The counselor will ask questions about how you are doing socially, at your job/school, medically, and spiritually.

Ongoing Outpatient Treatment: After the first appointment goal setting will help us learn where you want to go in your counseling. Then we work each session on helping you get to the destination of your choice.

Group Counseling: Groups are available to help you reach your goals more efficiently. Groups have been proven to help us reach our goals faster and allow us to have more support during our change process.

Affordable cost: Free initial session and ongoing sessions are based on what you can afford. Insurance, for the most part, does not pay for gambling treatment. Our funding through the state of Nebraska allows us to provide these services at affordable rates.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment for Gamblers

Five hours of programming each week:
4 hours of group and 1 hour of individual therapy.

12 structured weeks of gambling treatment:

* 1 no charge gambling evaluation
* 24 two hour groups
* 12 individual sessions.

Affordable cost:
$15.00 per group session, $30.00 per individual session, cost per week is $60.00 total. Payment is due at the beginning of the week client plans to attend treatment.

Groups include:
* 6 sessions Early Recovery Skills
* 8 sessions cognitive behavioral therapy
* 4 sessions Family Group: family members will be invited
* 6 sessions Relapse prevention

Distance Treatment

Ask yourself:
* Do you live far enough out of Omaha that you really dread the thought of driving to treatment every week?
* Have you been thinking about gambling treatment but not sure if you can afford the gas to get there?

Distance treatment is the answer: Distance Treatment gives you an opportunity to come to an appointment one time every 4 weeks rather than weekly and still get the benefit of weekly contact.
The distance treatment difference: There are handouts, readings and assignments in between each session. There is email/mail/internet contact in between each session.

Eligibility for distance treatment: This option is for those who have been wanting to attend treatment but have been not sure how this would work be cause they live far from a treatment provider. Nebraska has limited services for those with a gambling problem and their family members. Our hope is to reach those who want gambling treatment where distance has gotten in the way.
