This time of year can be difficult in several ways: financial problems, reminding us of situations of grief and loss, making us feel inadequate because we can't figure out the "right" gift to offer, work stress, relationship problems, spiritual stress, not to mention the emotional problems we experience from expecting perfection from ourseves and those around us.  All of these can put us in a position to feel poorly during this time of year.

If you find you need help through this difficult time, please get the help you need.  Sometimes help can come in the form of getting more social, doing things you enjoy, focusing more on self-care or getting professional counseling.

Peace and Power Counseling can be a resource for you.  We have openings available for appointments and are happy to help you find the help you need in the community, if you require services that we don't offer.

Today I finished reading Harold S. Kushner's book, "How Good Do We Have to Be?"  In his book he says, "Being human can never mean being perfect, but it should always mean struggling to be as good as we can and never letting our failures be a reason for giving up the struggle."

We wish you the best holiday season possible in your humanity and the humanity of those around you!
